Nov 9, 2010 - Microsoft released SQL Server code-named 'Denali' - Community Technology Preview 1 (CTP1).

This Community Technical Preview (CTP) release of Microsoft SQL Server Code-Named “Denali” Analysis Services contains no new features or enhancements. In CTP1, Analysis Services, PowerPivot for SharePoint, and Data Mining are offered at the same functional level as SQL Server 2008 R2.

Upcoming CTPs will provide many new features for Analysis Services and PowerPivot for SharePoint, as well as enhancements to features released in SQL Server 2008 R2.

Note that there is no SQL Server Code-Named “Denali” version of PowerPivot for Excel in this CTP release. Please use the SQL Server 2008 R2 version of PowerPivot for Excel to publish a PowerPivot workbook to a SQL Server Code-Named “Denali” PowerPivot server.
