Simba Technologies Launches MDX SDK for Building Java-Based XMLA Providers for OLAP Solutions

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 31, 2007) - Simba Technologies Inc., the industry leader in both relational and multi-dimensional data connectivity solutions, announced today the release of SimbaProvider MDX SDK 4.1, the leading Software Development Kit (SDK) for building robust OLE DB for OLAP (ODBO) and XML for Analysis (XMLA) data connectivity to multi-dimensional, OLAP and star schema relational data sources. This latest release incorporates many notable enhancements, including the ability to build a Java-based XMLA Provider for interoperability across platforms.

SimbaProvider SDK's new Java-based XMLA Provider complements Simba's existing and proven .NET-based XMLA Provider. Simba's customers now have the option of deploying both a .Net-based and a Java-based XMLA Provider, enabling them to create a platform independent data provider for MDX connectivity to multi-dimensional and star-schema relational data sources.

"For the same cost and development effort, Simba's customers can use SimbaProvider SDK 4.1 to build an ODBO Provider, a .NET-based XMLA Provider and a Java-based XMLA Provider, giving them the widest interoperability to fit their implementation scenario," said Amyn Rajan, CEO of Simba Technologies Inc. "For any ISV that has a proprietary multi-dimensional or OLAP data source and wants to have a MDX interface on that data source for connectivity to products like Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables, SimbaProvider is the fastest way to get there."

SimbaProvider SDK includes Simba's MDX 2005 compliant MDX engine, the industry's choice for easily building and maintaining multi-dimensional data connectivity.

"If you want connectivity to Pivot Tables in Microsoft Excel 2007, MDX 2005 compliance is a must and once again, Simba delivers," added Rajan.

Other enhancements to SimbaProvider SDK 4.1 include expanded documentation, as well as a number of additional enhancements based on customer feedback, in line with Simba's commitment to providing highly functional and easy to use connectivity solutions and tools.

SimbaProvider SDK 4.1 enables Independent Software Vendors to connect to industry leading data analysis applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Business Scorecard Manager, Microsoft Reporting Services, Business Objects, Cognos, ArcPlan, ADOMD, ADOMD.NET and many others. Simba's history of providing standards-based, multi-dimensional data connectivity has made SimbaProvider SDK the most widely used ODBO and XMLA SDK available.
