Tableau is a visual analysis and reporting solution that allows people to explore and analyze databases and spreadsheets with simple drag and drop operations.

Analysis and reporting in Tableau is straightforward and optimized for SQL Server Analysis Services. It connects directly to OLAP cubes and local cube files (.cub), as well as to SQL Server relational tables. Users connect (1-click) and start building drag & drop views of what they want to see. A first view not only provides an insight (e.g., "Costs are increasing"), but also suggests additional questions (e.g., "What's causing the increase?"). Users can immediately drill-down on the first view to reveal the answer to the second question.
