Product Overview Business Analysis Tool is a BI system made by BIT Impulse. Possibilities of data analysis in the application are very powerful: apart from standard pivot table with chart functionality it has advanced ways of OLAP data visualization such as treemaps and dynamic scatter diagram.
Features of data analysis: Pivot tables with unlimited number of rows and columns and above 30 types of charts; Other efficient ways of data analysis: treemap and dynamic scatter diagram; Member selection using search by mask; Work with KPI; Creation of custom calculated measures and members of dimensions; Highlighting of data using gradient and exception rules; Data filtering and sorting (there is a possibility to use such functions as “topmost N”, “topmost elements whose sum is >= N% of total”, etc.) Printing of reports with the possibility of scaling, color print and page numbering. Data export to the Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice Calc, PDF, RTF (Word) and native format NRP


Administration features:
Fast delivery of access right on the dimension data (with the help of wizards) for a vast amount of users; User profiles (it is possible to limit the actions users can do with the report); User roles are used for defining security for reports and defining visibility of dimensions/measures; Management by users, roles, reports; Cube perspectives on the level of BI-system roles; Setting of access permissions for the reports and data in the cubes; Viewing and analyzing of MDX statistics;
Other features
Support for Sharepoint (there exists a set of Sharepoint web parts) Scheduling service (users can subscribe to receiving the reports via e-mail) Integration with Active Directory (optionally each BAT user/role can be bound to Windows login/group) Intellectual application server, which executes user queries and is responsible for correct server load, for timely stopping of command execution, memory allocation, etc. Zip-compression of transferred data from the client to server and vice-versa. Problem tracking subsystem – support team gets e-mail messages immediately when the problem occurs, so they know what and where happened and why. Client application can work both inside the browser and separately. There is a way of deployment of the client through the AD group policies.
Architecture Business Analysis Tool is a 3-level system with a client side and application server; it uses Microsoft Analysis Services as OLAP server. The architecture is as following:
