Following the latest announcement by Salesforce.com on its native support of the Google’s Visualization API, Panorama has extended its analytics solution enabling any programmer to integrate, in a few simple steps, dashboards and interactive reports with their salesforce.com application. By simply using the tools made available by Salesforce.com, including code snippets and APIs, and combining it with Panorama’s analytics solution, you can now deliver a set of applications that range from powerful executive dashboards to custom reporting applications over live Salesforce data that can then be published on any webpage.

I just read this post talking about how nice it will be to be able to collaborate on spreadsheets when Office 14 is available:
http://performancepointinsider.com/blogs/bsm/archive/2008/11/03/office-14-online-preview.aspx

I am writing this post to ensure that those who need to collaborate on spreadsheets and even better - do some very powerful collaborative analysis don’t wait 2 years for Office 14 but start using Google Docs with Panorama’s online solution now.

All you need to do is upload your spreadsheet to Google docs, insert the Panorama pivot table gadget and share with others.

Here is a nice video showing how you do that:

We just launched a new exciting feature in the NovaView Executive Edition that allows users to break the traditional framework of rows and overall structure of dashboards by creating their own custom-made designs. Users can now create their own layout from the ground up and give their dashboard it’s very own look, in any way they would like.

Not only that, but users can then take their designs and share them with an online community.

Would love to know what you think about it!

SQL Server Analysis Services is one of the most powerful BI platforms available today with the ability to create and integrate all of your business data as the foundation for all of your traditional reporting, OLAP and KPIs.

While some strong applications are available from Microsoft directly, many have shown interest in going beyond the basics with more power, more visualization, easier usability and, most importantly, greater simplicity of integration.

We invite you to join us for our webinar entitled, “Going Beyond the Basics with BI for SQL Server”, featuring special guest, Microsoft BI blogger Chris Webb.   Come see the most popular and highest ranking (according to the BI survey) third-party BI solution for the Microsoft SQL Server platform and hear the thoughts of the community through Chris Webb on Microsoft’s overall BI direction.

This webinar will showcase how you can:

  • Discover new ways to take advantage of your existing investment in SQL Server Analysis Services in all its versions.
  • Make BI simpler for end users and analysts.
  • Analyze your data in new and unique ways.
  • Generate reports that combine the power of reporting and analytics.
  • Visualize your data in exciting new ways.
  • Use Google with Panorama to analyze data from your SQL Server platform.

New Release Gives Both Consumers and Enterprise Users the Most Intuitive and Robust Data Analysis Tool Available in a Software as a Service Model

TORONTO, ON – (September 17th, 2008) –
Following its breakthrough announcement earlier this year regarding the adding of pivot table functionality to Google AppsTM, Panorama Software, a global leader in Proactive Business Intelligence solutions, today unveiled a major update to its data analysis solution.  Focusing mainly on delivering a flash-enabled, rich user interface along with support for enterprise line-of-business data, the new release enables greater numbers of consumer and enterprise users to take advantage of the power of analytics.

“After our initial public release of pivot table functionality for Google Spreadsheets in March of this year, we were completely overwhelmed by the tremendously positive response that Google users gave us,” said Oudi Antebi, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Panorama Software.  “Our new release has two goals: one, to make data analysis so simple so that any information worker or consumer can use it; and two, to enable our solution for Google Apps to analyze enterprise line-of-business data.”

Panorama’s new solution for Google Apps features a completely overhauled user interface which allows, for the first time, a truly user-friendly and powerful analytical experience.  Built using Adobe’s flash technology, the UI is more closely aligned with Google’s traditional sleek look and feel; the inclusion of smooth animation and graphics also guides the user through each step of the data analysis operation.

It’s always great to have news to blog about and that certainly includes news that we’ve gotten a thumbs up from the analyst community.  Panorama earned first-time placement in recently-published “Forrester Wave”, published by Forrester Research.

We were among a select group of companies that Forrester invited to participate in the Forrester Wave report.  By the end of the evaluation, we scored well on Global Presence, Product Direction, and Pricing and Licensing.

Business Intelligence, as a comprehensive and effective business improvement tool, is finding widespread acceptance in the marketplace.  We are certainly pleased that Panorama continues to be the platform of choice for companies the world over who demand exceptional business analytics.

The study acknowledged the huge credit deserved by Panorama Software due to the use of our code in the BI solutions of Microsoft and Google and highlighted that when all you need to do is OLAP, it’s hard to beat the MDX optimization, experience, and best practices that Panorama Software has accumulated over the years.

It always feels good to have a hearty pat on the back from the analyst community and we are happy to have been included in this very influential report.
